Reports of violence against musicians and producers are becoming common these days.

Just hours after musician Mowzey Radio was laid to rest, a producer known as Man Polo was attacked by unknown goons and thumped to near death.

The producer who was worked with Sheebah Karungi, Aziz and the B2C soldiers was almost killed when the goons hit his face leaving his eye swollen at Kololo.

He is currently nursing wounds and in need of prayers to get well soon.

It goes without saying that a fellow producer, Danz Kumapesa was beaten and passed on in similar circumstances. Popular musician and brother to Chameleone, AK47 was also beaten in almost similar circumstances leading to his death back in 2015.

We will keep you posted.

Viewers of the ongoing reality show, Big Brother Naija has condemned the new Big Brother’s voice.

They complained that the change from a deep baritone voice used in last season to this season’s calmer voice is disrupting the fun of the show

Here are some comments:

@TiGerFame tweeted: “Biggie, this voice no work. You people should reconcile with whoever owns the real voice and bring him back. If he is dead invoke his spirit.”

@mbalsea said: “How can housemates take the tasks serious when Biggie’s voice is a joke?”

@iamxeenia tweeted: “Please we all hate Biggie’s voice. Can they change it for the viewers’ sake? The viewer’s opinion is more important.”

@closelywatching said: “Dear BBN organisers, I really wish you wouldn’t ignore the sincere pleas of fans to change this Biggie. It is beyond his voice.”

@cwayachirps wrote: “This voice is embarrassing and a morale killer.

“This Biggie’s voice lacks command, lacks sexy tone, and lacks everything the other Biggie had. They better get auto tune working in that studio.”

Similarly, some twitter users are advocating for DJ Bally, one of the housemates from last season, to replace the current voice.

It should be recalled that Biggie in the ‘See Gobe’ version of the BBNaija had a deep, authoritative baritone that attracted the attention of the fans during his stay in the competition.

@Festygareth wrote: “We need Bally’s voice to replace small biggie.”

@cwayachirps wrote: “Bally would have been given this ‘Biggie’ contract if there is no money to pay the former one.”

Following the sudden untimely death of Goodlyfe singer Mowzey Radio, singer Jose Chameleone has called upon all artistes to be more careful and also stand together in self-defense. The Champion singer while at the late Radio’s burial said all artistes should start moving with Panga’s in the vehicles in cases of attacks. “I urge all artistes to be more cautious and careful, If need be move with Pangas in your cars to avoid more of such killings. Artistes are dieing in very brutal ways” Chameleone said.

“The Artistes’ industry is as important to the Ugandan economy as any other industry. Artistes are very valuable people. Government needs to look into these killings and further provide adequate security for artistes.”Chameleone further expressed his grief. A very heart broken Chameleone also asked the general public to respect artistes. “Artistes are not violent people. There is a false perception that we are violent people. We refute that. Lastly, please artistes stop being in compromising places, try to always be as safe as you can possibly be and avoid being alone”

It should be remembered that the President of the Republic of Uganda Museveni Kaguta last year also advised the general public to be careful and also move with Pangas and sticks to fight in self-defense after the AIGP Felix Kaweesi was killed by gunmen.

Moses Radio is another of the brutal murders that have happened recently after Danz Kumapeesa, Dizzy Nuts, AK 47 and others.

Rev. Father Kateregga explains why he rained fire on celebrities at Mowzey Radio Requiem Mass

Staff Writer
Last Friday was a day to remember as Rubaga Cathedral priest Rev. Father Kateregga rained fire on Ugandan celebrities during his sermon at the Mowzey Radio requiem mass.
The youthful priest was blunt as ever as he stated the realities that celebrities go through and how they handle fame vis-à-vis what is expected of them by God.

He hinted on how they live splash lives forgetting that God who gave them the talents they have expects a lot from them.
When quizzed about the sermon that some believe was too harsh for a funeral service on NBS Amasengejje, Rev. Father Kateregga had this to say.

“The sermon at the funeral was about thanking God for the things that he gives you. Once you are born you are a candidate for death. So everyone has to be thankful and that is what I was telling him. Everyone has a dark side of life and we prayed for Mowzey to be cleansed. I also had a message for the people who came to the funeral service. The message was not for the deceased but for the people who came for the mass,” he said.

“I prepared for the people I was going to meet and I knew which age group most of them were in and that is how I delivered the message. I am in Makerere in my second year doing Mass Communication. I am updated in every field of life. So what I talked about is the reality because I am updated. Some youths don’t care about their lives and they need to be put in line. Youthful years are for working hard so that when you are old you can enjoy the fruits of your labour,” he went on to say.

“I am a priest and I have the respect of being called Father. That means I am like a father model for my flock. I am old enough to advise on life issues. When I am at the pulpit I don’t abuse anybody and don’t harm anyone. I reprimand in the name of God and I intend to convert souls for God. You need to put God in everything you do whether you are a pastor or not. People take weed but we take the spirit of God and get more understanding and spiritual power. When you put God ahead of your life, you move faster and achieve your dreams,” he added.

Asked if he will organize a celebrity Mass sometime soon, Fr. Kateregga said that the celebrities must ask for themselves.

Entebbe Town clerk Lutaaya Dan Fred rushed to close De Bar following a brawl that has since led to the death of music icon, Mowzey Radio. Today, he explained why he rushed to close down the bar.

According to him, he retraced the permit to avert danger and more chaos. He said; ‘We have retracted the operation license and permits. If the bar had continued working Mowzey’s fans would visit to drink there and then they would argue about what happened and chaos would erupt. We did our part and now we are waiting for the Police to do their part,’ he said.

‘If the owner wants to open up his bar again, he will go through the right procedure and assure the council that he will follow the rules to make sure customers are safe when they are on his premises. All bar bouncers will be vetted so that they know what is expected of them,’ he added.

Godfrey Newsmaker, the DelaCosta talent search PRO addresses journalists.

By Our Reporter

A new talent search has been launched.

Dubbed “DelaCosta talent search”, it was announced at a press briefing held on Monday morning at University Plaza hotel, Wandegeya, Kampala.

The talent search aims to provide a platform for raw singing talent from across the country to express themselves and get discovered.

According to their PRO, Godfrey Newsmaker, they will traverse different parts of the country seeking out the most talented musicians who will then be equipped with skills needed to grow a successful music career.

“We are investing in the future of our music industry and want to change the lives of the young talented artistes,” he stated. “We will select five winners from each region who will then be inducted into our academy where they will be imparted with all the necessary skills — such as stage performance and song writing skills among others — to sustain their singing career.”

He further noted that this talent search will be held annually with the overall winner walking away with a record label deal.

The competition is an initiative by DelaCosta Kingdom, a production house and record label owned by UK-based Ugandan businessman Matovu Jose Delacosta. Participation in the talent search is free of charge and interested candidates can pick registration forms at DelaCosta Kingdom offices at University Plaza or apply online. It is expected to kick off in the first week of April.

Nothing hurt me as much as being at loggerheads with artistes I had seen grow and even worse my own brother, Chameleone narrates how he met Moze Radio.

Following the untimely fall of the legendary singer Moze Radio, a very grieved Jose Chameleone has taken us back to how he met the Angel voiced singer, how they fell out and mended their relationship. Chameleone known for mentoring multiple talents that with no doubt include Radio has narrated to us on how he met and became Radio’s biggest fan.

“I met the late Radio through my then crew member Chagga who was now his manager. I was at Resort beach where I had a show and Chagga showed me Radio. Chagga backed Radio so much asking I allow him to start working with us. I asked Radio to sing for me and he sang his Jenifer song. Because it was in English I asked he joins the Ngoni because his style was similar to theirs.” Chameleone told us. He continued, “He insisted he wanted to join Leone Island and it is at this point he sang another Luganda song I don’t remember. Radio worked with me for a full year before he could do his first song and because of his discipline I paid for his first studio time and that is when he did his first song.”

Chameleone narrated that after a couple of years radio felt he could start on his own and together with Weasel they broke away and started Goodlyfe. “We were at loggerheads for a long time but our differences were childish. Mainly it was about respect.”

“One day Radio came to me and amongst so much discussed we reconciled and worked together again. The day I reconciled with Radio and Weasel I felt I had life again. Nothing hurt me as much as being at loggerheads with artistes I had seen grow and even worse, my brother.”

“It is a good thing that we were in good terms by the time Radio died, it gives me peace.” A sobbing Chameleone concluded.

How Chameleone secured Kololo Airstrip and definitely a state viewing for the late singer Radio.

Contrary to the usual norm where celebrated artistes are taken to the national theatre for viewing, the deceased singer Radio Mawzey had his last viewing witnessed at the national Air strip in Kololo. While everyone was thinking it would be the usual National theater norm, celebrated singer and mentor to the late singer Radio, Jose Chameleone thought of a more honorable way to send off his former student and friend.

It is with no doubt the singer has links with the state house big guns having twice participated in the presidential campaigns. The Leone Island singer then used his state house friends to get the venue secured for what is to date the biggest send off by an artiste. Jose Chameleone being friends with the minister for security Tumukunde was quick to contact him and ask for the venue. “Chameleone made a phone call to the minister and requested for the venue and with no hesitation the minister agreed to it” a source told us.

Our efforts to reach for further details have been futile as Jose Chameleone still grieves for his fallen friend Radio. Jose Chameleone is said to have dedicated his next shows in Congo to the life of his fallen friend Radio.
