Radio and Weasel at Jazz Comedy show

By Lee Osbourne

Goodlyfe singers Radio and Weasel have claimed that they are unbeatable in Uganda as far as music is concerned.

While performing at Comedy Store hosted by Alex Muhangi at Diners Lounge Bukoto, Radio and Weasel said that they are still the only unbeatable musicians in Uganda, indicating that they have consistently done good music.

“We are still Uganda’s unbeatable musicians, we don’t have time for haters but only for doing good music. Tujjabata,” shouted Radio.

The dynamic duo however couldn’t forget to applaud their fans for making them feel special and always supporting them, indicating that we both need each other as the crowd cheered them on.

She also revealed that she is an impatient person though she always wants to see others patient with her and asked people close to her to learn how to deal with her.

By Lee Osbourne

Singing diva Fille Mutoni has finally explained why she has cancelled her upcoming concert.

Speaking in an interview on NTV this morning, Fille indicated that she never expected her fiance MC Kats to act the way he did after they got misunderstandings last week to the extent of taking to social media to air out their marital problems.

The Double Trouble singer said that Kats’ actions prompted her to make this hard decision of cancelling the show since she realized that she may go ahead with the concert and later MC Kats cancels it at the last minute to hurt her again following the way she has been deeply hurt by him.

Fille went ahead and apologized to both her fans and other brands that were sponsoring her concert for letting them down and requested them to understand her since she never intended to disappoint them.

It should be noted that Fille’s concert was slated for November 25th and was going to take place at Garden City Roof top.

Crane Bank Saga: Bank of Uganda Never Learns

Crane Bank

By Our Reporter

Bank of Uganda took over the management of Crane Bank on Thursday sending the bank’s depositors and entire banking sector into a frenzy and fearful mood. The takeover came after weeks of speculative talk that the commercial bank was troubled and being sold by majority shareholder Sudhir Ruparelia.

Bank of Uganda last week came out to clarify that while Crane Bank was looking for an investor to recapitalize, the process is a normal practice and that the commercial bank was in a fine state. Bank of Uganda which regulates the banking industry confirmed that there was no reason for customers to panic. The central bank also quashed social media messages suggesting that Crane Bank customers should withdraw their deposits.

However a high ranking official at Crane Bank lamented that Bank of Uganda was unfair and malicious in their decision to take over the indigenous bank’s operations. He said they have been engaging Bank of Uganda for the last six months but the central bank has not been helpful. The official who preferred not to be named to speak freely said Bank of Uganda has turned down all potential investors presented to them by Crane Bank. He suggested that maybe some individuals benefit when Crane Bank fails. “Why now, we have been talking to them and we are in a process of recapitalizing. Look at our assets; we are in a good position to continue operations especially once we get an investor to inject more money in the bank. Bank of Uganda seems wants to fail but this will not happen.” The official said.

No lessons learnt

This is not the first time Bank of Uganda is moving in on struggling commercial banks. In 1998, the central bank took over the management of Greenland Bank before completely closing it down on April 1 1999. Other banks that have been affected by Bank of Uganda’s hard hand include Global Trust Bank, Teeffe Trust Bank, Greenland Bank, National Bank of Commerce, TransAfrica Bank and International Credit Bank among others.

The effects of the closure of such banks have been immense and still fresh in the eyes of the affected persons. Many Ugandans lost their life’s savings and business that were backed by these banks suffered. Therefore by experience Bank of Uganda and government should have known the devastating results caused by these harsh decisions. Bank of Uganda should know better that if a similar feat happens to Crane Bank which boosts of more 700, 000 active depositors the economy and most especially the banking sector which is fragile will also suffer.

“People will start losing trust in commercial bank because they can’t continue losing money. There will be a liquidity crisis and Bank of Uganda is facilitating it,” the official warned.

People will stop trusting banks

A financial expert, Eric Debele, has warned that the decision by Bank of Uganda to take over Crane Bank will have a significant effect on the recovery of Crane Bank which has been looking for a partner to recapitalize. The central bank governor Emmanuel Mutebile said crane bank was undercapitalized and posed a systemic risk to the banking industry.

However Debele says that what Bank of Uganda did at a time Crane Bank was looking for capital is the worst thing that can happen to any bank. “Any investor will think twice before buying into Crane Bank. This will mean Crane Bank failing in its endeavor to recapitalize. For how long will the central bank treat local banks in such a manner? Bank of Uganda should be supporting local banks instead of interfering in their operations even at such times.”

Debele adds that at a time when Ugandans lack confidence in the economy and the banking system, the developments at Crane Bank mean that the trust in the banking system will fall further down.

Customers, according to Debele, will start withdrawing their savings and the banks will not have money to lend or invest. This, he says, will be a disaster for the delicate banking sector.

Achieng AburaFormer Tusker Project Fame principal and renowned singer Achieng’ Abura has died.

It is reported that the popular afro-jazz musician was apparently on treatment for depression and gastritis at Kenyatta National Hospital.

The Star Newspaper has reported that a source from the hospital also said that apart from depression and gastritis, Achieng also had kidney problems.

In her last post on Facebook, the late singer revealed that she had lost a lot of weight in the last three years, but wasn’t feeling well.

I have lost over 50 kgs in the last three Years. Everything is hanging and weak. Walking is a problem with pains all over. Doctor says I must add 30 kgs then lose it as I exercise and firm up. The irony of life. I was not even losing weight intentionally! I allowed life to get the better of me. Learn from my mistakes,” the post read.

She leaves behind a 23-year-old son who was due to be flown abroad for treatment after undergoing a blood transfusion earlier this week. He suffers from sickle cell and a heart condition.

May her beautiful soul Rest In Peace.

Here’s why Diamond Platnumz failed to attend the AFRIMMAs

Diamond Platnumz

Diamond Platnumz was recently nominated in the African Musik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) 2016 where the award ceremony went down in Dallas Texas, but the Salome hitmaker was nowhere to be seen during the red carpet or the main event.

Diamond Platnumz won the Best Male East Africa category at the AFRIMMAs, though he wasn’t present to receive the trophy.

Other than that, Diamond Platnumz was also on the list of performances for the AFRIMMA night, and a week ago, he had even put the event as part of his scheduled performances for October, which begs the question of what happened for him to suddenly pull out the last minute.

Most of the nominees around Africa attended the much anticipated African Musik Magazine Awards in Texas, like Kenya’s Sauti Sol and Akothee, Nigeria’s Tekno, Tanzania’s Vanessa Mdee and Harmonize and many others.

Talking to Mseto’s Willy M Tuva, Harmonize revealed the real reason Diamond Platnumz was not able to attend the coveted awards. According to him, Diamond missed his flight when they were leaving, because they were supposed to travel together.

He also mentioned that Diamond was not the only one who missed the flight since his dancers were not also able to catch the flight, though they really wanted to attend the event because to them, this was a very important award ceremony more so for Diamond.

9 Ways To Tell If He’s Lying To You

couple 1

While understanding his underlying motivation to lie can make it easier to spot his tell, there’s a good chance he’ll display one of these incriminating behaviors when being less than honest:

1. Stuttering is a classic sign of lying. Not telling the truth can cause a short-circuit of the brain, creating a gap in smooth conversation when an excuse to cover up the truth isn’t thought of quick enough.

2. When the liar can’t come up with a plausible story, repetition happens. The details he can come up with are repeated again and again, scrambling to cover something up.

3. Pausing and stalling are signs of forgetfulness. These signs tend to rear their ugly heads when creating new lies to cover old tracks or when recalling old lies.

4. The past is honestly misremembered from time to time, but critical details that excuse absences, disappointments or unexplained events should never change. If you are noticing a change in details, that’s a good sign there’s been some lying going on.

5. If his story sounds rehearsed or is repeated verbatim multiple times, you can almost bet it’s a lie.

6. During a discussion, if your guy under-reacts (like staring into space and staying silent to your accusations) or over-reacts (becoming aggressive and starts a fight) there’s probably an underlying problem he’s hiding. Extreme reactions to questions are big red flags.

7. Fleeing the scene is a common option for liars. He will make excuses to leave the conversation and sometimes the house, making it impossible to get the full story. More importantly, leaving gives him time to make up a more plausible story.

8. Shifting the focus to something else is a way to deflect the spotlight and avoid uncomfortable feelings. A less creative but more cunning man may try this tactic instead of telling a story he knows is untrue.

9. When you lie, it’s a natural to not want to make eye contact. Avoiding eye contact is one of the best ways to give away your honesty. Notice where your man’s eyes are looking when he’s telling you his story.

7 Signs You Aren’t Giving Your Lover Enough Attention

$

couple -4

Many men find women hard to read; but if you know the signs, you’ll know exactly what your lady needs. Most of the time, she just needs some more attention from you. Here are seven ways you can know if that’s the case:

1. She acts jealous

If she seems jealous of your work, friends or even other ladies, it’s probably because you aren’t treating her like she is your top priority. Because your spouse should be No. 1 in your life, if you are devoting less attention to her than to other people or responsibilities, she is definitely lacking attention that she deserves.

2. She stopped asking you for things

If she used to ask for your help or opinion and she doesn’t anymore, she’s probably grown accustomed to you not helping out very much. To fix this, ask her deep questions about her life, or what you can do for her; or just go ahead and do something for her without having to ask.

3. She’s dressing to impress

If she’s spending a little extra time twisting up her hair or she wears something she knows you like, she probably is doing it to catch your eye. Let her catch your eye. She needs that attention from you.

4. She’s being nit-picky

If your wife is starting to get on your case about the small stuff more than usual, she probably is in need of your attention. If she doesn’t get enough time with the real you, your annoying habits can eclipse all your goodness.

5. She tells you she misses you a lot

The most obvious way you’re going to know that your wife needs more attention is if she flat-out tells you. She may miss your physical presence in her life or the close emotional relationship the two of you used to share. No matter what, if she’s telling you she misses you, you need to devote more of your time to her.

6. You find out more on social media than in person

If you log into Facebook to find out what’s going on with your lady, something’s not right. You should know about her life before the Web does. Text or call her throughout the day so you can know what’s going on with her

7. You go to bed at different times

Both of you need the personal attention that getting ready for bed and laying in the dark waiting for sleep to come affords. If the two of you aren’t going to bed at the same time, you need to make the change so you both get that time together.

8 Reasons to Stop Waiting for Him to Make the First Move

couple flirting

So you have met a great guy at work and there is definitely some chemical explosion between the two of you, but he has not yet made a move and you are stuck sitting in the corner of the street not knowing if you should walk away and risk losing something that could possibly be great or to take a risk and move on ahead, taking the lead in the situation.

1. We are no longer finding ourselves in the 19th century

Let me start off by reminding you that we are no longer finding ourselves in the 19th century where women had to wait for their Mr. Darcy to come knock on the door, sweep them off their feet and take them out for a nice romantic stroll before he proposes to them.

We are in the 21st century where women have a say and instead of resorting to the obsessive social media stalking of the guy in order to get to know him. I say, “Stop mellowing in passivity and profusely drowning in the pressure of waiting for the guy to make the first move and just go and ask him out.”

2. Women that ask men out are no longer seen as desperate and immoral ladies of the night

Yes, ladies, it is the 21st century and women that ask men out are no longer seen as desperate and immoral ladies of the night, they are now seen as strong and sufficient ladies who know what they want and are not afraid to go after it and claim it – come hell or high water.

It perplexes me greatly that the norm for ladies is still to somehow hold an air of mystery and sophistication around them. They honestly believe that by playing hard to get they will encourage the guy that they are interested in to want them even more and who can blame them.

For centuries we have been manipulated to resort to passivity or even indirect strategies in order to get the guy. Yet, in a society that is constantly evolving and moving forward, this seems to be petty and inconsequential. Come on girls, own what your mama gave you and go for the guy!

3. He was never meant for you

If he is too intimidated by your approach, he was never meant for you and you can hold the door with a confident and friendly smile as he walks out to “catch” a girl who is willing to sit around and wait for things to fall into place. Oh, and exactly the way he wants it of course. Thank him as you now patiently wait for the man who will love your wild heart for chasing him and who will not call on you to be tamed.

4. Technology is also coming up to speed

Bumble is an online dating app with a slogan that reads, “Changing the rules of the game.” It was the owner, Whitney Wolfe’s, aim to turn the tables and pass the ball directly in the ladies court (pun might have been intended). The power now lies with her – about time too, and the men dig it.

5. Women who initiate the first move feel more in control of their lives

Once you make that first move you can definitely count on gaining his respect and at the very least you have established your position as a woman who can hold her own. This theory has in fact been proven by the researchers, MacGregor and Cavallo, who came to the conclusion that those women who initiated the first move felt more in control of their lives, which in turn reflected in their relationship.

6. A woman who approaches a man stands out

Sean Connelay from Elite Daily states that a man never minds it when a girl approaches him and asks him out (an ego thing if you ask me). He goes on to say that a woman who approaches a man stands out and he can immediately see that not only is she bold, but she seems real.

The best thing about a girl approaching a guy is that the politics and over-thinking involved in Venus is not something active in Mars. Sean claims that he has not yet met a man that has complained about a girl approaching him or a man that has ever made her feel bad about it. If he is not interested, he will let her down easy.

7. Flirt is still a thing

If you still find your courage failing and would like a little more confirmation from his side, flirt a little more. Be aware of his body language when he is around you, notice how he talks to you and how he talks about you.

If his eyes glisten and his smile is so wide and bright it would make the actors in a Colgate commercial green with envy, yet he still has not mustered up the courage to ask you out (yes, they also fear rejection and embarrassment) then it is time to pull up your socks, take a deep breath in and make that untamed move.

8. Stop ruining your mental health by obsessing over a man

If he says that you are too much, then all you have to do is remind yourself of Nikita Gill’s words: “Baby, here is the real problem. He is too little to appreciate that it took an entire galaxy being woven into one soul to make you.”

We honestly have to stop wasting our time and ruining our mental health by obsessing over a man that might or might not be interested in the magic and adventure we have to offer.

We have to stop being afraid of whether or not we will look like fools in front of him or anyone else for that matter. That anxiety is unnecessary and frankly, it is minuscule compared to all the hurt, betrayal, and rejection that is currently unfolding in the world.

There is a powerful fire inside you that is waiting to be tapped in and expressed – do not let it be diminished and eventually extinguished by centuries’ old mind sets and fear of rejection. Rise up and claim your position and voice. Life is too short not to remind yourself of the goddess that you are.

12 Worst Flirting Mistakes Women Make

$
0
0

couple-5

Flirting is an integral part of every young lady`s life. But if dealing with those who try to win your heart is easy, you may find it hard to win someone’s heart yourself. Girls are so shy and often become nervous when flirting with hot confident guys. You just look into his amazing eyes and suddenly lose your head. Things seem to never be the same again and you can`t get control over yourself. Those moments are unforgettably beautiful but we often spoil everything and make a fake impression. If you want to stay calm with your future partner and make a stunning first impression, here are 12 terrible mistakes you should avoid when flirting…

1. Supposing he knows that you like him

Think the man is aware of your passion for him simply because you`re gorgeous today? No, ladies, that never works out. Take a first step to show your interest and to make him fall in love with you. Remember, no bees, no honey. He will never know you like him if you don’t let him know. He will run away from you if you don’t give any signs.

2. Telling about the others who like you

Well, frankly speaking, it`s all about me. Don`t make this fatal mistake. When you tell a guy that he`s the winner among all the other guys who also like you, he may think something like “You may count for our friendship and nothing more. You see, I already have a “partner’s list” to choose from.” He may think you are a light-headed girl who’s not interested in long-term relationships.

3. Being too confident and mean

When flirting with a shy guy, don’t be too confident and don’t try to show that you don’t have any insecurities. When flirting with a confident guy, though, don’t be too mean. Many girls tend to be mean with confident guys because they think it can help them look more confident too. In fact, this type of behavior can scare any guy away.

4. Constant laughing

Guys like to tell jokes. This way, they try to boost a woman’s mood and show that they are funny. Well, laughing at his jokes is a must, but don`t go too far. Don’t start giggling every time he tells a joke, especially if you don`t really find it funny, because it`ll look unnatural and he will understand that you actually don’t like it.

5. Drinking too much alcohol

Taking a few shots of something will not spoil your date. What`s more, it can make you feel relaxed and even more confident. However, moderation is always important. You should avoid getting drunk when flirting, as you wouldn`t like him to see you rolling on the floor, moaning and crying. Modern guys are looking for the girls with no bad habits like drinking or smoking.

6. Being too much interested

Express your interest in what he says with questions and great listening skills. You shouldn`t pretend that his words are so much exciting that you are ready to become his girlfriend right now. The art of flirting is hard to master but one of the most important things to remember is to be yourself. After all, you can’t pretend all the time, right?

7. Lying

Lying is awful and it can ruin any type of relationship. Tracing whom you lied and what you lied about in order not to get caught is a heavy burden. Moreover, it’s a bad idea to start your relationship with a lie. If you want your crush to love you, not your lie, it’s better tell the truth only. No sweet little lies!

8. Flirting online only

When flirting online you feel so comfortable, brave and confident that you may start avoiding him in real life. If he doesn’t ask you out on a date, it doesn’t mean he is not interested in you. He may be too shy to do it so be the first to ask him out on a little coffee date. If he rejects you, move on. You deserve a better boyfriend!

9. Facebook stalking him

Yes, Facebook may show you many interesting things about your crush’s life, but don’t make it a habit to check his account every hour in order to find out what he’s going to do tonight. Avoid commenting too much and sending dozens of messages. There are a lot of better ways to draw his attention.

10. Pretending you have the same favorite band

When I was in my early 20s, I made this mistake to get my crush’s attention. I told him that I loved his favorite band too. OMG, he started listing his favorite songs and I had to nod my head and smile. Eventually, I had to say the truth and that was the end of our so-called date. Don`t start your relationship with even a small lie because he may not understand it.

11. Being too cold towards him

Women love drama and like to test men. I used to follow the strategy “I don`t care about you, so love me” and I must confess that it was a mistake. When you make a man think you don`t like him just to find out if he`s straightforward enough to deserve your love, it may bring the desirable result. But think twice, would you like to be in a relationship where you`re loved only when you don`t like your partner?

12. Being too mysterious

I have a friend who likes to keep an intrigue and often doesn`t answer the questions guys ask her. It`s not a fatal mistake, but if you give some information about who you really are, you will look and act natural and find a common language faster.

Love is a unique, subtle and sensitive thing. Flirting is a necessary part of love, so it requires an extremely careful treatment. We go crazy when the time of flirting with someone super hot comes. But wake up ladies, we are those who always tend to complicate everything, especially the relationships. All men are simple by nature, so you don`t need to use any special flirting techniques. Just stay yourself, make a deep breath, calm down and win his heart! What funny flirting mistakes have you or your friends ever made?

Expediting the delivery process while giving customers full information on their orders in real time is certainly revolutionary even by their standards.

The new feature is intended to fasten delivery process, increase convenience and add more transparency to the food ordering process. Jumia Food has mastered the art of food delivery through breaking down the whole process into a science, so as to satisfy the customers’ demand for food-on the go and shorter delivery times.

To speed up the delivery process, Jumia Food uses a unique, and specialized tracking software called Urban Ninja which allows the Customer Service team to track down each food order from the moment the order is placed, to arrival time at the customers’ location. It is now possible to dispatch drivers and plan for driver capacity in a very efficient and time saving way.

Adding to this, Jumia Food partners only with restaurants who proved good quality and fast cooking times to increase customer experience as well.

How to benefit as a customer?

Place your food order through the smart Jumia Food app on your phone. The clock on the check-out page gives you an estimated delivery time and you can just relax and wait for your food to arrive. When the clock runs down to zero, a pop-up appears inquiring whether the order has been received. In case the allocated time was overpassed, you should click “NO”.

Our customer service team will directly get in touch with you by phone or email and will send a free food voucher which you can redeem on your next order on Jumia Food!

Joe Falter, Founder and CEO Jumia Food Africa, said: “We know that customer experience is our top priority and our customers obviously use our service for the convenience and easy-to- use application and website. Our customers expect to get their food delivered in the fastest time possible. That’s why are committed to deliver every meal within the time promised and value the time of our customers very well. Just in case something happens in the delivery process, and an order occurs to be late, we will make it up to our customers and offer them their next order with us for free”.

He added that customers will see Jumia food introduce many more innovations like this, because it is one step closer towards their goal of offering amazing variety, frictionless and seamless meal ordering processes, with customer experience at the core.

Eddy Kenzo

Local musician Eddy Kenzo is a bad loser. This after he came out to vent his frustration after he lost out at the MTV Africa Music Awards(MAMA) that were held in Johannesburg, South Africa on Saturday evening.

Kenzo, who lost to South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest in the Best Live Act category, insinuated that he had  been unfairly denied the award and accused the organisers of foul play.

Shortly after Cassper Nyovest was announced winner, an apparently upset Kenzo quickly took to social media to post: “politics here”.

However, most of his fans did not seem to agree with him as they dismissed his claims and encouraged him to work harder next year for another shot at the awards again.

He later expressed his gratitude to fans for always supporting him, posting; “Thank you for voting my people Honesty we the best I’m forever grateful. Alhamudulillah.”

Meanwhile, Uganda’s other representatives at the prestigious award ceremony, Bebe Cool and Sheebah Karungi had no luck either. Bebe Cool lost to Jah Prayzah from Zimbabwe in the Listener’s Choice category while Sheebah was beaten by Youssoupha from Congo in the Video of the Year category.
