Comedian Anne Kansiime is set to perform in Malawi.
The African Queen of comedy has announced that she will be cracking ribs in the South East African country this weekend.

“Lilongwe, Malawi brace yourself for a love affair this coming weekend…” Kansiime posted on Instagram.

This comes a week after the comedian put up a thrilling performance in Namibia at a show that was hosted by the Eba Pendukeni foundation.

Controversial singer A Pass has shocked fans after he wiped his Instagram page of all posts.
The official social media account of the singer on the photo sharing platform that boasts of over 220,000 followers, now has only three videos, promoting his latest songs.
It remains unclear what made the “Oruso” singer take the drastic action.

A Pass recently raised eye brows after he announced that he will be running for presidency in 2021, reasoning that he is what Uganda needs in a president. However, his announcement was met with so much ridicule and many fans accused him of using it to promote his music.

Snoop Dogg will be honoured with the 2,651st star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame to mark the 25th anniversary of the release of his debut album, “Doggystyle”.

Quincy Jones, Dr. Dre, and comedian Jimmy Kimmel will be among the famous friends saluting the rapper at the ceremony, scheduled for November 19, 2018.

“Snoop Dogg is one of those people who can do anything,” Ana Martinez, the producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, tells WENN. “He is a man of the ages and we welcome him to our Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

Snoop’s wife Shante Broadus and various members of the rap star’s family are also expected to attend the honour.

His and classic album, “Doggystyle”, was released in November, 1993.

After Wasafi Record’s latest song ,”Mwanza” performed by Rayvanny  and the Wasafi record president, Diamond Platnumz got banned in Tanzania, the “Gibebe” singer has come out to express his frustration and asked the Baraza la Sanaa Tanzania (BASTA )management to re-consider their decision ,explaining the song bears no ill intentions.

He wrote a very lengthy post in Swahili asking  government to clear the song to air on TV, radios and other media. This is after the organization banned the song citing some inappropriate content which is vulgar and immoral, which would promote the same among the youth.

This makes it the third song from Wasafi to banned by the government, after “Halleluyah” featuring Morgan Heritage and ‘Waka Waka” featuring Rick Ross got banned on the same grounds.

Ugandan music trio,B2C soldiers have sent out an official communication to media and fans ,letting them know that the person who has been their manager since they started making music, Mugerwa  Andrew is no longer in charge of the group.

In an official communication notice released this morning , they go ahead to appreciate him for the work he has done, helping them win a couple of awards, release a debut album and making over 15 amazing music videos under his management. It goes ahead to say that their now ex manager, has very many pressing issues at the moment that he is dealing with and cannot balance them with managing  the group.

The music trio now looks forward to working with new management, as they let press, fans and friends know that they will be unveiling a new manager in the shortest time possible, and currently managing themselves under B2C Management.

Bryan White while receiving the youths at his foundation makeshift offices, said there is need for people with authorities and platform to engage the young generation into proper direction.

“I call upon every Ugandan who has the authority or platform to talk to the youth to change their ways of living. They lack direction and need help for sure, we must change their mindset and instill hope in them that there is life after street gangs,” Bryan White“These youths don’t want to know and all they are looking for is life… we need to talk them and explain what is on the ground by giving them proper direction. Our children need a sorted future free from criminals and if we don’t talk to these street kids then we won’t have a secure future for them (children),” he added.

Kampala – MTN Uganda has today become the first telecom company in Uganda and in the MTN Group to grant access to third-party access to its Mobile Money Access Programming Interface (API). An Open API platform enables developers and programmers to get free access to MTN mobile money proprietary software platform. MTN Mobile Money is the most widely used mobile money platform in Uganda. Developers can now access it, create products that ease payment options and leverage the 10M of MTN clients registered on Mobile Money.

“This is an exciting development for the Ugandan start-ups ecosystem. Innovators will now be able to develop applications that ease the customer experience in terms of mobile money payments. We do hope that this move will spur innovation in the developer community around the country because this is the first time this is being done here,” said Elsa Muzzolini, the General Manager, Mobile Financial Services MTN Uganda.

In January 2018, MTN Uganda and Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP) entered a partnership intended to drive customer growth and activity by facilitating a wider range of mobile wallet applications for all customers through open APIs. According to CGAP, open APIs have the potential to further drive financial inclusion, which is already being accelerated by the usage of mobile money.

“Our expectations are that this decision will enable innovators to monetise their products, ensure that there is fast turnaround of innovations to get to market and improve the value created for innovators and entrepreneurs, why not a Ugandan Ebay or Amazon in the next few months” Muzzolini added.

The MTN Mobile Money API will be accessed by developers online through http://momodeveloper.mtn.com/. This takes away the process previously where developers had to submit paperwork physically to MTN Uganda and to proceed to a lengthy standard integration. The online system provides an option where before developer’s product goes live, they can test it using a sandbox available at no cost on the website.

MTN also announced the launch of a Shs1bn Startup Fund that will be accessed by local technology start-ups in Uganda. The fund is expected to provide a financial boost to startups that participate in the MTN innovation challenge series.

The first of these is the MTN Open API Challenge starts on 3 December 2018. Participants will make their entries on the innovation challenge website.

“It has been 20 years since we started operating in Uganda and our role in this economy has been evolving. Today, opening the Mobile Money API further emphasises our ambition of being a digital company. Ugandan developers now have the opportunity to build products that will enhance financial inclusion, improved customer experience when making payments and improve the movement of virtual money,” said Wim Vanhelleputte, the MTN Uganda CEO.

Adding, “The Shs1bn commitment we have made towards the MTN Startup Fund also forms part of that ambition to continue supporting local innovators. I encourage as many startups as possible to participate in the several innovation challenges we shall be hosting in order to access funding from the MTN Startup Fund.”

At the same function, the MTN Uganda CEO unveiled a Ugx 310 million high speed internet connectivity package to the Innovation Village, courtesy of the MTN Foundation. The package includes free internet connectivity for use by young developers and innovators as part of its youth empowerment drive.

There has been a tremendous success in countries like Kenya where some telecom companies have opened up their Mobile Money APIs. MTN Uganda in partnership with several technology and innovation hubs around the country is facilitating the training of developers on how to use the platform. Free training program is available for registration on MTN website.

Model Judith Heard has broken her silence after international media that include UK’s Daily Mail, CNN, among others published stories about her nude photos scandal.
In May, the socialite landed in hot water after her private photos were once again leaked online by an alleged ex boyfriend who was blackmailing her, leading to police summons.
Now, a few months later, international media have picked interest in the story that they published last weekend.
Judith Heard has thanked them for sharing her experience in a social media post.

Singer Eddy Kenzo has landed in hot water for asking Ugandans to vote for Bebe Cool in the AFRIMMA awards.
The BET award winner shocked thousands of his followers on Wednesday night when he made the unprecedented move.
Posting a photo of Bebe Cool on his Facebook page, he wrote,
“Vote for Bebe cool in afrima guys!! Tuyina okwegata mumbera nga eno bweti Team Uganda let’s do this for our country. Vote vote vote. Together we can..”
However, his fans have since flocked to the comments section to blast him for rallying support behind someone who has allegedly always undermined his career and works. They have vowed to instead vote their “in-law” Diamond Platinumz, Zari’s ex who he the Gagamel boss has been pitted against.

Bebe Cool and Eddy Kenzo have been at loggerheads for years, trading jabs every once in a while.
The 2018 AFRIMMA awards will meanwhile take place on 21-24 November, in Accra, Ghana.

American rappers Desiigner and Bas, together with British raptress Stefflon Don are set to perform in Kenya.
The trio will headline the this year’s edition of the ‘Jameson Connects’ concert that will take place on December 8, at The Waterfront Karen in Nairobi.
Desiigner is well known for his hit song “Panda” while Stefflon Don is mostly known for her “Hurting Me”, a collaboration with American rapper French Montana.
The concert will also feature local Kenyan acts like Nyashinski, King Kaka, among others.

Katy Perry has surprised fans by releasing a Christmas song one month to the most anticipated season of the year. The song entitled “Cozy Little Christmas”is  produced and written by the singer herself with the help of Grammy nominee Greg Wells and Ferras Alqaisi.

In the song, she sings about what a perfect time, Christmas is for her. She rhymes that she doesn’t need diamonds or any sparkly things because she only needs her lover by her side on the special day.

“Cozy Little Christmas” is currently available on Amazon Music only, but fans could hear a preview through her social media accounts. “For all my friends secretly buying their tree already SURPRISE! Christmas comes early!” she wrote on Twitter.

The song marks her first original single since releasing her chart-topping album “Witness” last year. It is also a follow-up to her last holiday song, “Every Day Is a Holiday”, which was unveiled back in 2015 as a part of her partnership with H&M’s Christmas shopping campaign.

Nigerian star, Mr. Eazi has launched a program aimed at empowering Uganda’s emerging and undiscovered music talent to global success. Dubbed “emPawa”, the accelerator program was launched at Skyz hotel in Kampala on Thursday and will altogether empower 100 musicians on the continent annually drawing from a USD300,000 fund.

Speaking during the press briefing, the “Leg Over” hitmaker revealed that he came up with this initiative following  overwhelming response to his call for songs from emerging artistes for a chance to bankroll their next music project.

“Early this year, I put out a tweet saying I wanted to help emerging artistes and attached an email where they could send their songs,” he explained. “In under 30 minutes, I had already received 4000 emails from various talented individuals across Africa who were sending in their songs. These were just too many and I could not go through all these emails, and that is how this program came up.”

To participate, artists will be required to upload a video showcasing their talent on their Instagram account and tag it — #emPawa100. Each artists’ submission will be reviewed by top industry experts from across Africa. From all entries, 100 artists will be selected to move onto the next stage of the programme and share a $300,000 fund.

Each of the 100 hand-picked artists will receive $3000, with $1000 being invested to create a high quality music video of their submission track. Each of the artists’ videos will be placed on Mr. Eazi’s YouTube channel ‘Detty TV’ along with the emPawa social media platforms, creating further exposure for the artist.

From the 100 artists, 10 will be specially selected to undergo mentorship in an incubator program enlightening them on how to grow their brands, export and monetize their music.

The emPawa program, features an all-star team of acclaimed artists and music producers including Mr. Eazi, Diplo and Raye who will participate in grooming and mentoring the young talent.

The exclusive listening party which was held at Cayenne bar in Bukoto was hosted by Smirnoff Vodka, which is also promoting his album.

The unique music experience gave fans a special opportunity to listen to the new album with Mr. Eazi as well as be treated to a special performance by the artist.

He performed songs like Pour Me Water and Property as well as collaborations with artists such as Simi, Burna Boy, Chronixx and Maleek Berry.

Mr. Eazi also announced the launch of his emPawa Program, meant to empower Africa’s young and undiscovered music talent to global success. The accelerator program will empower 100 African musicians annually drawing from a USD300,000 fund.

A famous Ugandan Prophet who’s been to heaven a number of times has some big news for his followers. Apparently he’s succeeded in convincing God to allow him transport other people to heaven for a few.

These will be the first of their kind return flights in the world. “Last time I was in heaven, I requested him to allow me to be coming with some of you. The good news is, Papa God said yes,” the Prophet told his followers in the areas of Lugogo.

The big deal is, tickets on Air Heaven will cost UGX 5 million and they are on a first come, first serve. But from what we have heard, a number of the followers have booked out the flights. One of the ardent followers told BigEye.ug; “I always prayed for a chance to see Heaven. Thank God for the prophet, now I can fly there at least twice a year and speak to God and Jesus face to face, then swim with the angels in the afternoon.”
