Also in the episode, Saha strikes a remarkable chemistry full of energy and love as he collaborates with Yared on a fresh track.

According to Saha, “Working with Yared was so much fun! I really loved his melodies and picked up a lot from him,” adding on his experience on the show, “I am grateful to Coke Studio Africa for giving us an opportunity, not everyone makes it here. It’s a good chance to represent and share our music with the rest of Africa and the world. It is a super star experience! Jose Chameleone has thrown another jibe at King Saha for saying he wrote two of his classics. A rather seemingly relaxed Chameleone when asked by the website to give a comment on allegations by King Saha that he wrote Badilisha and Valu Valu, Chameleone said “will refer to the bible story in 1 Kings 3:16-28 where two women were fighting for a baby and King Solomon decided to get the baby cut into two but the rightful mother would not let that be, so for Saha to say he wrote my songs and I just added voice is dividing credit, let him as well own the songs”

Chameleone in his statement with us also disclosed he has written all his songs all his 19 years of music and also produced most of them. “I have written all my songs and produced most of them” he revealed too.

Is Mogas Naalya hiding something?

Not many entrepreneurs take lightly, the reality of a business closure. Often times, it takes time to sink in. And this could quite easily be the case with Mogas Petrol Station. After news made rounds about the sell of their Naalya premises to food chain franchise and petrol station, Café Javas and City Oil, owned by tycoon Mandella, their public relations department was quick to dismiss the news as a rumor.

The posted a press release rubbishing the news of the closure.

According to reliable sources in the City Oil managerial outfit however, the premises of Mogas were indeed purchased.

“They must be protecting something. Or maybe they are simply finding it hard to accept reality. But the news is true, and they sold,” explained our source.

He further added that in a very short time, when the developments start, the truth will be shoved ashore, and their attempts to hide whatever it is their hiding will be rendered null.

We hope that whatever it is, it’s settled amicably between the parties involved.

The Ultimate Guide to Your Prom Night

By Staff Writer

Prom night is the biggest night for any high school student. It’s one for the books and nothing can go wrong. From selecting the best outfit from many prom dresses or tuxedos to your date, this day carries many memories you’ll remember for life.

However, with so much to think about and plan for, many students end up ruining this day because they didn’t have a solid plan. No worries though. If you have a fast approaching prom night, this guide will offer you the tips to plan for your big day.

  1. Have a Budget

Prom is a big night and everyone wants to look good, but do you know what you’ll spend on? Chances are you’re too excited with a lot of ideas crossing your head you don’t know what to choose. This is why you must have a budget to list down all your expenses.

Afterward, you can find out what each will cost and whether it’s necessary. For example, take a look at the basics:

  • Your Outfit – This is the most important item for your big day. For the ladies, you may want to pick from amongcheap prom dresses but still maintain a stylish and modern look. For the gents, a flashy tuxedo will do. As you go shopping, have a budget to help you stay on track.
  • Makeup – It doesn’t whether you’ll do the makeup yourself or have a professional do it, a budget is important to avoid overspending.
  • Nails – Pedicure or manicure, including these and other related costs in your budget.
  • Jewelry and accessories – You need to accessorize your outfit with jewelry and other accessories, but don’t hurt your pocket trying to look good.
  • Prom tickets – Many students forget about the tickets since they’re immersed in their outfit choice and other look-good factors.
  • Dinner – Prom tickets differ depending on how much you can afford. Some come with dinner included while others don’t. If your ticket doesn’t include dinner, your prom group should identify a dining location, but make sure you can afford the place.
  • Transportation –Having a prom group allows you to contribute to transportation costs. This will save the entire group of money compared to if everyone paid for their own transport. Besides, where’s the fun riding alone to a big night such as prom night?
  • Boutonniere or Corsage for your date – This long-standing tradition carries from one generation to the next. Don’t forget about it.
  • Photos – What’s a prom night without photos to mark the memories made? However, if you’ll hire a professional photographer for this job, consider the costs.
  • Have a Prom Group

This group consists of your friends and it’ll help all of you overcome difficulties associated with planning for a prom night such as transportation, dining and timekeeping. You can create a Facebook group where the entire squad can communicate. This way everyone will be in synchrony.

  • Synchronize with Your Date

You don’t want last minute rushes neither do you want arguments on the big day. To avoid this, start planning for the prom night with your date and agree on certain basics including transportation, your outfits, boutonnieres/corsages so you appear as one during the night.

  • Make Necessary Appointments in Advance

This includes beauty treatments, booking your transportation and dinner. Making reservations and bookings in advance saves you money and time while avoiding disappointments.

Therefore, do this a month before the big day because chances are during prom season, many high schools may have same day prom nights. Furthermore, some services may book fast during this season.

  • Get Your Parents Onboard

Just like you, your parents have been waiting for this day and it’s normal for them to want in on the action even if it’s just a photo session. Thus, loop them in on your plans and you won’t regret it. Besides, you don’t want them blowing up your phone trying to find out where you are.

  • Enjoy Yourself

This is your big night. One which you won’t get to experience again. Therefore, enjoy the night to the fullest and don’t let small issues bug you. Before you freak out, ask yourself whether it’s worth your fun. These small issues will only affect you if you let them.

If you’re reading this it means you have all the tips required to prepare for your big day. Nevertheless, it doesn’t mean everything will go as planned. For this reason, it’s crucial to have a backup plan for everything. This way your prom night will go on smooth.

I told them that we must work so hard to change the fortunes of our people- otherwise we shall have betrayed them. I called upon them to discover their mission and fulfill it when they are still young, and still have the opportunity. UNVEILING KAJAMBIYA: Gospel music gets new addition

If you are a lover of gospel music, you have most probably heard about “Kajambiya” Perhaps, you have seen him perform any of his songs. He is popularly known for hits like “Bullet”, “Kyatulidde”, “Ululate” and lately “Ani Aluleeta”

Born 29 years ago to the late Samuel Muwanguzi and Rose Lydia Muwanguzi, he attended Molly and Paul Busega Primary school for his nursery and Primary and then went to St. Henry’s College Kitovu (SHACK) for his O’Level, and later attended Mengo Senior School for his A’level.  He then joined Makerere University where he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering.

“Kajambiya” says that he drew inspiration for his stage name from Hebrews 4:12 which says; “The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”. It is from that scripture that he decided to translate sword as Kajambiya to make it sound a bit comical and catchy. His real name is Jovan Ssebaggala.

He is a humble and reserved individual who loves people. He is also an unashamed lover of God and has often been seen doing ministry with his friends. He loves to serve God. When asked why he loves God so much, he simply smiled and said “It is because He loved me first”He has been a lover of music from the time he was a child. His face carries a nostalgic look while he shares on how they had a huge collection of cassette tapes at home. As a child, he loved to listen and dance to the music from this collection, with his favorites being ‘The Specials’ “Free Nelson Mandela” and Sammy Kasule’s “Maama Afumbye Ekitobeero.” He would sometimes find himself singing while drumming the sideboard or tables. He, however, discovered his ability to compose in senior one while at SHACK in 2003. That was a turning point in his life

He looks up to artists like Pompi and Travis Green. On what drives him; he says that challenges push him to get better each day. He believes that thinking outside the box is an aspect every man must have. His music is a pure revelation and is a result of a deep personal bible study and daily meditation on the word of God. The one thing that has made him tick is that he does not compromise. If he sets out to do something, he will do it as best as he can.

Asked on how he manages to do music yet he has a professional job, he said he believes that every responsible person must be able to balance out the time between his career, family and passion; this can only be done by proper planning. In his own words; “I have 8 hours of work and 6 hours of sleep in a day. There’s quite a lot I can do in the remaining 10 hours and music is one of them” This year, he intends to release more music, do a couple of videos and to release his debut album titled Chronicles of a Reborn Spirit. We can only wait for this exciting project to take form. He encourages youth to do their best, be their best and leave the rest to God.

On what inspires him; at first, it was the desire to participate in singing competitions at school but he later realized that music was the one avenue through which he would best express himself; he started to write songs depending on how he felt about different matters of life. He only ventured into doing music professionally as a response to the call of God on his life.

Nothing beats a resilient, principled and God fearing man. Kajambiya is all this and so much more. And we are sure that he is going far.  He is unstoppable. Like he says, “Ani Aluleeta”

I almost became a staunch devil worshipper says Grace Sekamatte

During the hay days of the Eagles Production band, founding member
Grace Sekamatte had everything going his way. Things turned south when the band disintegrated years ago.

In his confession at the Miracle Cathedral before a large gathering, the music guru told Pastor Robert Kayanja that he has had many ups and downs that almost led to him becoming a staunch devil worshipper.

Grace said; “I have done a lot of music with Eagles Band before we broke into different groups. There are times when I felt I was on top of the world and then I felt I was so down. I was so tempted. I had a band that ruled over Kampala airwaves for 16 years. Every musician in our era used to respect us. 4 years ago we split and everyone went their own way. This was the end of our happiness. We are still singing but in diminishing returns business ways. This I could do in December I cannot do today.”

Grace added; “Everything in my life is failing. I had 3 options, the first one was to become a staunch devil worshiper, the second one to become a sheikh to read the Quoran or the thrid one, to look for any church that could help me build myself. 3 weeks now, I don’t drink. Pastor help me and pray for me.

It is at this moment that Pastor Kayanja and the church prayed for Grace and dedicated him to God.

Eagles Production was formed in 1999 by Grace Ssekamatte, Mesach Semakula, Ronald Mayinja, Fred Seruga, and Geoffrey Lutaaya. They had all at one time been entertainers – dancers and singers; having started out in Emitos Band, which was led by the late Umaru Katumba, a defector from The Ebonies.

We will keep you posted.

Jose Chameleone blasts King Saha

Music wars never seem to end in this country of ours and when King Saha came out and claimed to have been the one who wrote Dr. Jose Chameleone’s Valu Valu and Badilisha recently, we knew we were in for another of such wars.

According to King Saha who has been to Coke Studio this year, he is the one who penned the two popular songs. Chameleone has however come out to reveal that this is all bullocks.

Jose Chameleone

Here is what Chameleone said about the entire saga when contacted; “Those young people have things that are disturbing them. Valu Valu is not a song for simple minded people. I don’t want to fight with anyone but he should stop claiming music that is not his. I went to studio and created the entire song, he doesn’t have a genius mind to create the work I create. He is lying. Let him write for someone else and we see. He should stop using the media to sell his lies.”

Chameleone then referred all those in doubt to his producer PaddyMan who also confirmed that the songs are indeed his.

King Saha

“We worked on Valu Valu in 2012. This was after I started my studio audio one in 2011 and I called Chameleone to come and support me. He is a freestyler. He didn’t come with any demo, or book with the song. He got everything from his head as we were recording,” Paddy of Audio 1 revealed.

It should however be noted that some musicians don’t respect songwriters and when the song becomes a hit, they claim it all and leave the artiste with nothing.

We will keep you posted.
